Fundraisers Supporting Afghans!

We’re delighted to announce the launch of Fundraisers Supporting Afghans, which RNC has initiated and is facilitating, to support charities working with the people of Afghanistan with FREE specialist fundraising coaching.

The expertise of the Welsh fundraising sector has been harnessed and will see a team of 17 (and growing!) experienced fundraisers to coach not-for-profits delivering services, directly or remotely, to those affected by the crisis in Afghanistan. This includes people who have fled to the UK as refugees, those displaced within Afghanistan, and people who have been dislocated to the surrounding countries of Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

All the fundraisers involved are volunteering their time freely. The coaching aims to grow an Afghan support organisation’s expertise in and knowledge of securing donations from the public, making successful applications to trusts and foundations, working with corporate sponsors, and promoting their fundraising activity for maximum impact.

The scheme has the following eligibility criteria:

  • UK-based not-for-profit organisation or group (can be unincorporated).
  • Requires support to increase capacity to raise emergency funds and deliver humanitarian support.
  • Funding raised through volunteer coaching will support work to benefit people from, or within, Afghanistan.

Applications for support are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please apply here

Fundraisers donating their time include:

Deborah Mahon, Michelle Hurst, Denise Lord, Jon Matthews, Ann Collins (Practise Training & Consultancy), Corrine Williams, Joanne Davies, Katy Nettleton, Martin Price, Michael Westerman (The Midas Partnership), Sue Comber (CIoF – Philanthropy Company), and from Richard Newton Consulting: Mandy Youell, Emma Collier, Annabelle Elletson, Cinzia Yates, Rachal Minchinton and Richard Newton.

If you are a professional fundraiser who would like to volunteer your time, please email [email protected] with Fundraiser Afghanistan in the subject line.

We look forward to hearing from you.
