Iwan Jones

Commissioning & Grants Manager

Iwan Jones joined RNC as Commissioning & Grants Manager in February 2022, from LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity where he worked in the roles of Project Manager and General Manager.

In these roles, Iwan was responsible for a range of initiatives to help improve the charity’s structure and internal operations. These innovations included implementing robust processes and policies, increasing the use of the Welsh Language, re-establishing LATCH’s supporter groups and refreshing the charity’s on-site accommodation. Iwan – always practical – also became the office ‘handyman’: re-fitting the office, painting, and fixing washing machines whenever needed!

Before LATCH, Iwan worked at Tenovus Cancer Care as Head of Wellbeing. In this role, Iwan headed up three of the charity’s support services for people affected by cancer. This included launching a brand-new therapy service, managing the prevention arm of the charity, and working on re-structuring the charity’s hugely popular Sing with Us service across all of Wales and parts of England.

Prior to this, Iwan worked in Retail Distribution with Tesco, working to a senior level before moving to the Third Sector where he felt his skills and values were better aligned.

Iwan is a huge advocate for empowering people, supporting people to develop and has a track record of developing a strong team ethos with his teams and colleagues.

Out of Office

Iwan spends as much time as he can with friends and family attending events, going to attractions, or meeting up for food and ‘refreshments. Iwan can usually be found watching some form of sport – particularly rugby, cricket and F1 – and he plays cricket every summer. While he is a fan of being active and outdoors, he’s equally happy being indoors, spending time with his wife and young daughter and feeding his love for TV and film.
